EditorFlows: Hire a human editor

Real editors and designers who make the work themselves. No generative AI, just people who are good at this.

  • Packages from $25

The price, delivery time and number of revisions are written down before you order.

  • Reviewed by a person

Our team checks every freelancer's portfolio before they can sell anything.

  • Paid when it's done

Freelancers are paid when the order is complete, not before.

Is this allowed?

Every freelancer accepts the Human-Made Policy before their profile goes live. Pick a tool or a step to see where it stands.

Not allowed

A thumbnail generated from a prompt. A model made the image. Thumbnails, backgrounds and faces have to be made by the freelancer.

Allowed

Color correction with a licensed LUT. Scopes, LUTs and auto white balance are ordinary grading tools. The freelancer still makes the look.

Not allowed

An AI voiceover. Generated and cloned voices aren't allowed, and neither is AI-generated music or sound.

Allowed

Captions from speech-to-text. Transcription is fine as long as the freelancer reviews and corrects every caption.

Allowed if disclosed

Upscaling the client's old footage. A technical fix to the client's own material. Allowed, and the freelancer says so in the delivery notes.

Generative fill to add scenery. Inventing new content in a frame is generating the work, even if the rest is edited by hand.

Allowed

Rotoscoping the client's footage. Masking, rotoscoping and background removal on supplied footage are part of the craft.

Not allowed

An auto-edit that assembles the cut. Choosing and cutting the footage is the creative decision the client is paying a person to make.

Stabilization and noise reduction. Editing software has done this for decades. It fixes the footage without making anything new.

Frame interpolation for slow motion. Allowed as a technical fix on the client's footage, when the freelancer tells the client.

Not allowed

An AI-written script or title. On-screen copy that's part of the creative work has to come from the freelancer or the client.

Allowed

Licensed templates, stock and fonts. Assets the freelancer is licensed to use are fine. The arrangement and the decisions are theirs.

Cleaning up a muffled recording. AI voice enhancement of the real speaker is allowed if it doesn't change what they say, and it's disclosed.

Using a logo the client made with AI. Editing in material the client supplies doesn't break the policy. The freelancer's own part stays human-made.

We don't run AI detectors: they flag human work too often to be fair. A person reviews every application, and our team looks into every report. Read the full policy
